It’s amazing what you can find on the internet. 2 years ago, we launched our Hotel / Motel vintage key tags since our supplier was unreliable. After investing in machinery, we were able to manufacture them here. Our intended target was the Real Estate and Property Management market, however they have taken off with design firms, creative individuals and large corporations as useful gifts and promotional items! We have over 1,000 different combinations available in material, attachments and colors which has allowed creative marketers to bring designs to life!
While looking on the internet for our own product, we came across a nice blog post on how people take our existing item and make it their own! Read Ariel’s post on PMQFORTWO!
Does anyone else have a creative idea? Post a hand drawn mockup, art file, video or anything that comes to mind! We’ll give the best idea 6 free tags! No strings attached! 🙂
As with any small business, we often rely on each other for goods and services to help us succeed in a competitive world driven by our customers…, your customers. We will share our thoughts and experiences with the goal of helping other small business be more successful in what they do.
This is what makes us get up each and every morning, excited, anticipating what the day will bring. How can we impact others? How can we make a difference? What do our customers and colleagues need from us?
I leave you with a Steve Jobs quote from his commencement speech at Stanford that sums it up:
This is the post excerpt.
It’s remarkable how fast things accelerate in business today. The advancement of trends in technology sure has a snowball effect on the evolution of businesses. Remember Netscape, Prodigy & AOL? We have Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, WordPress, Reddit and my kids love SnapChat. People are on the move, they publish and find information right away. The future looks challenging for many brick and mortar stores! The bar of expectations for an e-Commerce experience is set extremely high compared to 5 years ago…thanks Amazon!
As a family owned business that has been around since 1948, we have seen the changes. I, myself am the 4th generation of leadership. As an early millennial, these changes are a normal part of every day existence. This is why I am so excited to work with new technology and pioneer the experience for our customers. Luckily, we are not a storefront and can adapt quickly. We are a manufacturer of promotional items, a re-seller of durable business supplies and a consulting firm for business advertising. Most of our traffic was procured from 500k catalogs mailed every year. In the 90’s we had a web presence, in the early 2000’s we went 100% e-commerce.
We are almost done with our new 2.0 website which has many enhancements. Our site will be responsive: we have 3 different site layouts which change depending on the device and size of your monitor. This allows people to find information and shop easily regardless of device. Past order information is all there in detail for easy reordering. Security? Sure we have top security standards allowing us to now store financial information for easy ordering… thanks again Amazon!
One of the coolest features will be the ability to build out an entire category with subcategories, products and custom pricing for our enterprise or national clients. This catalog can be completely unique based on the client need. I am very excited about that!
Take a look, let me know what you all think. Any feedback, criticisms, praises are all welcome!
